At just 15 years of age Sam partnered with a 14 year old Bali teenager TyasLatra to build a library in her village Bungaya. Despite many challenges and the honest thoughts of their parents that this library would never happen, construction was finished in Sept this year. The girls are now aged 17 and 16. With Mt Agung now in the process of erupting this library and community centre is playing a vital role in the care and education and entertainment/leisure of evacuees. What was meant to be a gift of literacy to 1 village has turned out to be a gift to 20 villages, all of whom are today accessing services provided by the library.
